These terms govern your use of Smitten at smittenapp.co.uk. By using the service you agree to them. The service is operated by Smitten ("we", "us").
Conversations are generated by artificial intelligence
The characters on Smitten are fictional. Every reply you receive is produced by an AI language model, not written by a person, and nothing a character says should be treated as a statement of fact about a real individual. Characters cannot meet you, send you photographs or video, or contact you outside this website, whatever they may say in conversation. The service is provided for entertainment.
Who can use Smitten
You must be at least 18 years old. By using the service you confirm that you are.
How the service works
- You may send a set number of messages free of charge. That allowance is currently 15 messages and may change.
- Once it is used, you may buy a message pack to continue. The current pack is 50 messages for £4.99 including any applicable VAT.
- Packs are a one-off purchase. There is no subscription, nothing recurs, and your payment details are not stored to bill you again.
- One message is deducted each time you send a message. Replies you receive are not counted.
- Purchased messages do not expire.
Your messages are tied to your browser
Smitten has no accounts. We identify you with a random reference stored in a cookie on the device you use. If you clear your cookies, use private browsing, or open the site on a different device or browser, you will appear as a new visitor and any remaining purchased messages will not carry across. If that happens, contact us at [SUPPORT EMAIL] and we will restore them where we can.
Payment
Payments are processed by Stripe. We never receive or store your card details. Prices are in pounds sterling. If a payment succeeds but your messages are not credited, contact us and we will correct it or refund you.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the service if you are under 18, or help anyone under 18 to use it.
- Attempt to obtain sexual content involving minors, or content depicting non-consensual acts or illegal activity. We will terminate access and report where the law requires it.
- Attempt to break, overload, scrape or reverse engineer the service.
- Use the service to harass or impersonate any real person.
Availability
We aim to keep Smitten running but do not guarantee it will be available without interruption. The service depends on third parties, and we may change or withdraw characters and features. If we withdraw the service permanently, we will refund unused purchased messages.
Liability
The service is provided for entertainment on an "as is" basis. To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you have paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. Your statutory rights as a consumer are not affected.
Changes
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows when they last changed. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the updated terms.
Law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
